Still in Florence, we found Hotel Lungarno, which was estab-
lished by Leonardo Ferragamo, one of Salvatore Ferragamo’s
successors, the fashion house leader. The interiors pay tribute
to the original designer. We highlight the Penthouse Floor,
which points over the masterpieces of Renaissance Florence.
By the iconic Ponte Vecchio and overlooking the river, it is
actually more a chic city-centre dwelling than a hotel suite.
Also unmissable is Studio Delux River View.
No less artful are the design furnishings and carefully selected
photos, framed in gold and hung in the centre of a mirror to
make you feel part of the glamorous images portrayed. The
suite has an extravagant marble bathroom, with double van-
ities, and walk-in closet, as well as a bar and fully-equipped
kitchenette and elegant writing table. Indeed, a pleasant and
glamorous stay.
FASHION //
Back to the list of fashionable cities, we couldn’t forget the for-
ever adored Paris: its lights, its extravagance, its opulence in just
one word. Also opulent is Christian Lacroix fashion design, who
has exclusively designed Hotel du Petit Moulin, transforming a
17th-century building into what its owners claim as “a true cou-
ture hotel”. Each room unveils a sense of exuberance out of or-
dinary. Walls might be covered in haute-couture sketches, starry
skies or giant carnations while furniture varies from antique to
pop to zen, sometimes in the same room, provide an eclectic mix
of sensations. The House of Lacroix’s extravagance and spirit are
matched only by their determination to fulfil a unique vision for
Hotel du Petit Moulin.
