The Kruger National Park was founded in 1898 and is one of the
oldest natural parks in the world. Creating a magnificent balance
between conservation and protection of the wildlife and wilderness,
community development and ecotourism, the Singita Kruger Na-
tional Park is one of the awe-inspiring and luxurious references of
the Singita lodges which can accommodate around 42 guests and
have 150 kms of private road, always keeping a careful eye for the
unknown.
The National Park is composed of two lodges, the Singita Lebombo
and Sweni, which were built taking into consideration the “touch
the earth lightly” philosophy. Singita Kruger is situated on 33,000
acres, in South Africa. Singita’s concession is an isolated piece of
pristine wilderness where a unique and rich wildlife population
thrives across four distinct ecological zones. The National Park is
renowned for concentrating the Big Five game animals, especially
remarkable pride of lions. The 2001 concession helped Kruger main-
tain and fully protect its treasurable ecosystem.
Singita Sweni Lodge is nestled beautifully amongst hundreds of
trees at the edge of the Sweni River. The decks of this tranquil and
intimate retreat seem to hover in the branches while the interiors
are rich in colour and textures that represent the hues of its natural
surroundings. With its proximity to the river, guests at Singita Swe-
ni Lodge are treated to up-close sightings of the incredible number of
animals and birds that wander down to drink or wallow in the river.
Comprised of 13 suites and one exciting private villa, the Lebombo
Lodge celebrates the ingenious designs and spirit of Africa with a
strong influence from nature. Characterised by a bold, contempo-
rary, sculptural and organic structure that combines materials like
steel and wood, guests will have picturesque views to the astonish-
ing N’Wanetsi River. The villa features two bedroom suites each
customised with a private swimming pool, an open-plan kitchen
and its own boma. The lodges boast a roof terrace and wine ter-
race, an interactive kitchen and an additional 25-metre lap pool. The
Lodge offers sophisticated, serene and meditative spaces engrossed
by the dramatic landscape of mammoth euphorbia trees.
The collaboration between award-winning Chef’s warehouse in
Cape Town, Liam Tomlin and Singita, allowed visitors to experi-
ence a fresh and modern dining experience full of global flavours.
Lastly, the Singita Kruger is quite devoting to increasing the econ-
omy of the local communities by aiming to support the growth
of certain sectors on the outskirts of the park, from helping local
schools to supplying essential needs to survive.
