to be renowned for its trout fishing and attracted many import-
ant people, such as HM Queen Elizabeth, James A. Mitchener and
Charles Lindbergh. While in the past, the conditions were rather
austere, the hotel has developed drastically into a world-class lux-
ury reference, however, its hospitality essence has never changed.

to River, upstream from the mighty Huka Falls. Offering ac-
commodation within 18 Junior Lodge Suites, one Lodge Suite,

Pye Cottage – guests luxuriate in an exclusive hospitality expe-
rience. The Alan Pye Cottage provides mesmerising views over
lush rolling green lawns and manicured gardens on the banks of
the Waikato River.nMaterials like cedar, heart timbers, stone and
brick were used in the architecture and design of the contempo-
rary re-interpreted cottage drawing elements from the 1920s and
1930s while having a strong influence and a sense of elegance
from the English Arts & Crafts Movement. The Cottage boasts
a cosy and intimate atmosphere, and everything was designed
with the utmost care and attention to detail, from an eclectic
style of furnishing to rustic antiques, striking paintings and tex-
tiles with a varied and strong colour palette.
Guests are bound to encounter park-like grounds, a feeling of
peace and tranquillity will star enveloping slowly on them. The
Deep turquoise green waters of the Waikato River further affirms
the beauty of this astonishing retreat.
