When it comes to lighting, there’s no such thing as
too much. Lighting has the ability to set the mood and
envelop one in a dreamy atmosphere, especially when
night-time comes. For instance, you can use solar lamps
to light meandering garden paths or outdoor floor
lamps to embellish your sanctuary. You can also place
lighting pieces around your outdoor furniture or use
light strings to create a more romantic and whimsical
ambience. Furthermore, well-designed, built-in lighting
systems are also of the utmost importance.
With the advancement of LED Technology and
smartphone apps, automatically installing this type
of lighting systems has become way more accessible
than ever. In regards to general architecture and design,
linear and large pavers, modular textures, water
features, the use of various materials, such as wood,
marble, concrete and textured walls, among others,
have become some of the most sought-after elements
to incorporate into one’s outdoor area. These are
simple yet effective components that beautify and add
value to your outdoor living space.
Now, let’s talk about the latest novelties and trends
in the industry. Recently, renowned designer Patricia
Urquiola has collaborated with outdoor brands to
create mesmerizing designs, including a series of
postmodern tables for Kettal and the Garden Layers
collection of Indian beds for GAN. The former includes
tables with circular tops that are supported by chunky
lacquered aluminium stems mounted on cylindrical
blocks of concrete, whereas the latter highlights a
combination of innovative fabrics and fillings, as well as
a comprehensive range of patterns and colours inspired
by the traditional Mughal culture and architecture.
