MEETING at
THE DEPARTURE PORT
B
envenuti, ora possiamo
partire. Finalmente si
salpa, questa mattina
il mare è calmo e la
giornata è a dir poco splendida.
Cosa mi piace dell’andare in
barca a vela? La barca a vela è
un modo di essere fatto di regole
da rispettare e di lezioni da
apprendere. Al timone controllo
costantemente la bussola per
mantenere la rotta ed arrivare
alla prossima meta, la Croazia.
La traversata di dieci ore del
mare Adriatico è un’ondata
di emozioni: all’orizzonte
meravigliose baie, suggestivi
faraglioni, colori indimenticabili.
Queste sono solo alcune delle cose
che prendono tutto un altro gusto
viste dall’acqua. È proprio questo
il bello: cambiare prospettiva,
spostare ogni punto di vista.
U
H
ello! There you are, now we can
leave. Finally, we hoist anchor.
The sea is calm this morning and
it’s a splendid day for a sail. What
do I like about sailing? Operating a sail-boat
means respecting certain rules and learning
certain lessons. When I’m at the helm I check
my compass constantly to keep us on course and
reach our next destination, Croatia. It takes ten
hours to cross the Adriatic sea, and we arrive in
a wave of excitement: on the horizon we can see
lovely bays, impressive sea stacks, unforgettable
colours. These are just a few of the things that
give everything a different flavour seen from the
sea. And that’s the beauty of it, changing our
perspective shifts our viewpoints.
T
here is one expression sailors use that
I like a lot. It is “one hand for yourself
and one for the boat” and it means
that we must never forget to take care
of our boat, our real “home” on the water. A
good sailor takes care of his boat, his crew and
his route with passion, attention, and devotion
because he knows them form a unique world.
His world.
147 islands, small and large, some
no more than large rocks protruding
from a crystal-clear sea. Discovering
the Kornati islands where nature is
intact and wild.
147 tra isole, isolotti e grossi
scogli in un mare cristalli-
no. Alla scoperta delle Isole
Incoronate in cui la natura è
integra e selvaggia.
