Sustainable
lighting
EN Sustainable lighting is the result of efficiency, longlasting lumi
naires and highquality lighting. The use phase is particularly crucial,
as it accounts for around 90 % of a luminaire's total lifecycle CO₂
emissions. This phase can be optimised by making use of smart
controls – sensorcontrolled lighting fixtures react dynamically to
the room and usage, creating both optimum lighting conditions and
sustainable cost savings. When combined with highly efficient LEDs,
power consumption can be reduced by up to 80 % compared to
conventional lighting.
EN The XAL Group has approved near and longterm sciencebased
emissions reduction targets with the SBTi. This means that we
are aligning ourselves with the latest scientific findings on limiting
global warming to 1.5 °C and emphasising our longterm commit
ment to ambitious climate protection. EcoVadis regularly assesses
our corporate social responsibility comprehensively on the basis
of objective criteria with a focus on the environment, employment
laws, human rights, ethics and responsible procurement. XAL
GmbH's Graz site was recently awarded the Platinum Medal for this.
The platinum rating is only awarded to the top 1 % of companies.

DE Nachhaltigkeit in der Beleuchtung entsteht durch Effizienz,
langlebige Leuchten und hochwertige Lichtqualität. Besonders
entscheidend ist die Nutzungsphase – hier fallen rund 90 % der
gesamten CO₂Emissionen im Lebenszyklus einer Leuchte an. Diese
Phase lässt sich durch den Einsatz intelligenter Steuerung positiv
beeinflussen: Sensorgesteuerte Leuchten reagieren dynamisch auf
Raum und Nutzung und schaffen so sowohl optimale Lichtverhält
nisse als auch nachhaltige Kosteneinsparungen. In Kombination
mit hocheffizienten LEDs kann so der Stromverbrauch im Vergleich
zu konventioneller Beleuchtung um bis zu 80 % gesenkt werden.
DE Die XAL Group hat kurz und langfristige wissenschaftsba
sierte Emissionsreduktionsziele von der Science Based Targets
initiative (SBTi) validieren lassen. Damit orientieren wir uns an den
neuesten wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen zur Begrenzung der
globalen Erderwärmung auf 1,5 °C und unterstreichen unser lang
fristiges Engagement für ambitionierten Klimaschutz. EcoVadis
bewertet unsere unternehmerische Gesellschaftsverantwortung
regelmäßig ganzheitlich anhand objektiver Kriterien mit Schwer
punkt auf Umwelt, Arbeits und Menschenrechte, Ethik und ver
antwortungsvolle Beschaffung. Zuletzt wurde die XAL GmbH am
Standort Graz dafür mit der Platinum Medaille ausgezeichnet. Der
Platin Level wird nur an die besten 1 % der Unternehmen vergeben.
