Concrete
Concrete is an elegant, simple, hygienic and durable material.
Depending on the type of concrete, how it is processed and what
production method is used, the surface structure, texture,
colour and patina of the concrete may vary. To preserve the
natural look of the concrete surface – especially its patina –
coating lacquers and acrylic resins are not used. Concrete
gets it’s character from its patina, from its traces of use. In
our facility, the unique concrete surfaces are protected
against liquids with the help of food-safe and biologically
harmless water and stain repellents, guaranteeing the best
possible protection. Properties that are typical for concrete
such as small pores, hairline cracks, colour variations and
punctuations – like the knots and annual rings in wood –
are part of concretes look and emphasise its uniqueness. In
addition to these natural and inherent properties, concrete
is sensitive to acids. Contact with acidic and staining liquids
such as coffee, tea, wine and sparkling wine, fruit and vegetable
juice, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, cleaners containing citrus
and abrasive cleaners must be avoided.
