taglio, o sapranno rendere l’effetto macchiato na-
eccellenze, caratteri unici, insostituibili e ricono-
The use of machinery and the development of tech-
nological resources, are a part of our heritage and
of the culture which has been handed down to us
from the twentieth century. The ability to perfectly
replicate certain products in unlimited numbers
of copies – thus ensuring quality characteristics
and costs that place the objects produced within
the reach of so many – is most surely an acquisi-
tion of the first order. However, we also fully realise
that even the most modern, advanced machinery
cannot take the place of the skilled craftsperson,
especially when the materials used require consid-
erable care and attention. When we process natu-
ral materials we come to realise just how different
one item is from the next. Nothing can replace the
human skills required to perfectly match grains of
wood and stone, or to decide exactly where a cut
should be carried out, or to create the naturally
blemished effect of hand-burnished brass, while
compensating for the various climatic conditions
prevailing during processing, or to work on the tiny
flaws characterising special and particularly chal-
lenging materials. Our production is light-years
away from the world of industrial processing and
‘production cycles’. No industry can do what we
do. Our manufacturing practices still reflect the
need for criteria linked to nature, time, climatic
conditions and the seasons. These criteria, which
still play a crucial role in our practices, are linked
to the distant past and to skills handed down from
one generation to the next – traditions of excel-
lence and of excellences. Here, the practices
widely associated with products Made in Italy find
full, unique, inimitable expression. We believe in
the eyes and the hands of our craftspeople. They
are, in themselves, values. Core values that set us
apart from others.
