A Commitment to Future Generations
For more than thirty years, sustainability has been a cornerstone of Riva1920’s manufacturing philosophy. It is
a tangible, everyday commitment that informs every stage of the process, from the selection of raw materials to
the final finish and the quality of the spaces we live in. The company gives priority to reclaimed woods such as
Kauri, Briccole, Cedar and Barrique, valuing materials rich in history and giving them new life through design.
Alongside these, it uses species sourced from responsibly managed forests, where each felled tree is replaced
by new planting in support of the forest’s natural life cycle. Care for people’s wellbeing is equally central to this
vision: for this reason, Riva1920 uses only formaldehyde-free vinyl adhesives and natural finishes based on
beeswax or pine oil. The aim is to create authentic, healthy and enduring pieces, designed to be passed down to
future generations.
La sostenibilità è da oltre trent’anni una colonna portante della filosofia produttiva di Riva1920. È una scelta
concreta, quotidiana, che guida ogni fase del lavoro, dalla selezione delle materie prime alla finitura finale e
alla qualità degli ambienti in cui viviamo. L’azienda privilegia legni di recupero, come Kauri, Briccole, Cedro
e Barrique, valorizzando risorse cariche di storia e restituendo loro nuova vita attraverso il design. Accanto
a questi, utilizza essenze provenienti da foreste gestite in modo sostenibile, dove a ogni pianta abbattuta
corrisponde una nuova piantumazione, per sostenere il ciclo vitale della foresta. Anche la salute delle persone
è parte integrante di questa visione: per questo Riva1920 impiega esclusivamente colle viniliche prive di
formaldeide e finiture naturali a base di cera d’api o olio di pino. L’obiettivo è creare arredi autentici, sani e
durevoli, pensati per essere tramandati alle generazioni future.
