The ART system interprets the island as an architectural presence sculpted
from the material itself.
Appennino marble defines its volume through compact surfaces and a structural
continuity in which the top, side, and front meet at a 45-degree angle, forming a
single material block traversed by subtle grooves that punctuate the surface.
The edges of the stone structure are finished with a continuous 5 mm radius,
consistent with the project’s design language.
The new Soft door panel brings this principle to the center of the composition
and more clearly highlights its formal and tactile qualities. The internal structure
is made of aluminum honeycomb, while the ARC Canaletto Walnut veneer is
complemented by a solid wood edge of the same wood species, finished with
continuous rounding. It is this detail that defines the door’s character: the profile is
precisely rounded, the light flows more gradually, and the front takes on a softer,
more balanced, and textured presence.
Between the door and the stone structure, a 10-millimeter spacer creates a
shadow line that lightens the mass of the marble and gives the front a sense of
suspension.
The countertop features a 1.5-centimeter recessed area that accommodates the
cooktop and sink, transforming the functional elements into a subtle feature within
the surface.
Material, technology, and craftsmanship thus converge in a single design gesture,
where the construction detail becomes an architectural language.
