HAL was conceived of as an all-purpose chair programme fulfilling a whole host of different requirements in an appropriate and contemporary way. A large selection of bases, colours and optional seat covers can be combined with the flexible and comfortable plastic seat shell. HAL’s body-conscious seat shell made of moulded plastic ensures a high level of comfort and promotes dynamic sitting due to its supreme flexibility and ability to accommodate numerous sitting positions. Comfort level and variety can be increased with a fabric cover, which attaches by two fabric straps, making it easy to remove again – for a change of decor or for cleaning. Depending on intended use and personal taste, the shell can be combined with different bases: In addition to two stackable tubular steel bases, there is also a version with wooden legs, giving the chair a distinctly homely feel, a version with a cantilever base with or without armrests and two barstools of varying heights.
