L’iconico “Monofiore Balloton” è un oggetto che
seduce apparendo morbido come un tessuto
trapuntato, per poi rivelarsi come vetro.
L’ illusione ottica è racchiusa nel suo nome:
Balloton, la tradizionale tecnica di soffiatura
del vetro che ricrea l’aspetto matelassé sulla
superficie. Un sottile filo in contrasto di colore
lavorato a caldo intorno al collo del vaso è la firma
della vetreria.
The iconic “Monofore Balloton” is an object that
seduces by appearing as soft as a quilted fabric, only
to reveal itself as glass.
The optical illusion is couched in its name: Balloton,
the traditional glassblowing technique that
recreates the matelassé look on the surface. A fine
lip in a contrasting colour hot-worked around the
mouth of the vase shows the glassworks’ signature
style.
