There are two parts to the Brioche armchair: a padded backrest and the seat that it is wrapped all around,
complete with an ample cushion. The armchair has a steel swivel base with matt black coating. A total lack of sharp corners and
the soft fabric upholstery round off a design that revolves around comfort but has a smart, tidy appearance conceived not only for
homes but also for the contract market and public spaces.
The pouffe presents a natural extension of the design approach. It stems from work on the archetypes of com-
fort, so it can also be seen as an independent, statuesque piece. Brioche is the antithesis of a minimal design: it transforms for-
mal abstraction into avowed emotional tension, bringing back memories of the work of Lina Bo Bardi. The design comes from the
heart, rather than the head.
