S 5000
Sessel, Liege, Chaiselongue, Sofa – vielfältige
Variationsmöglichkeiten sind das Merkmal des
Programms S 5000. James Irvine hat einen Sofa-
typ neu interpretiert, der schon in den 1930er
Jahren Bestandteil des Thonet Programms war:
Den Archetyp des minimalistischen Sofas mit ei-
ner Basis aus gebogenem Stahlrohr. Durch leichte
Interventionen entstand ein variables Programm,
das auf einer einfachen, intelligenten Konstrukti-
onsidee basiert: Dem „Baukasten-Prinzip“. Dafür
werden in den Sitzrahmen je nach Bedarf bau-
gleiche Arm- und Rückenlehnen integriert. Mit
dieser Idee eröffnet sich ein breites Einsatzfeld
und eine große Auswahl unterschiedlicher Aus-
führungen.
Sessel und zwei- oder dreisitzige Sofas. Unterge-
stell und Arm-/Rückenlehnenbügel Stahlrohr
verchromt. Einfache Montage mit Inbus-Schlüssel.
Lehnen-Elemente in zwei unterschiedlichen
Höhen. Polsterbezüge in Leder oder Stoff, die
abnehmbar sind.
Armchair, daybed, chaise lounge or sofa – a
diversity of variations characterize range S 5000.
James Irvine has reinterpreted a type of sofa
that was already a part of the Thonet programme
in the 1930s: the archetype of a minimalist sofa
with a bent tubular steel base. A variable range
resulted through subtle interventions, based on
a simple, intelligent design idea: the “modular
principle”. Up to four identical upholstery elements
are placed on the standard base element as
armrests or backrests at the owner’s discretion.
This idea opens up a broad range of uses and
large selection of different versions.
Armchair and two- or three-seat sofas. Base
frame and armrest/backrest bracket chrome-
plated tubular steel. Simple assembly with Allen
key. Backrest elements in two different heights.
Covered in leather or fabric, removable.
