Most of the production by Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba is inspired by the relationship between man and nature. The result of his work is simple and ironic: it’s Art or Design. The Monkey Lamp is exactly what you see: monkeys similar to men and we can see ourselves in some of their traits and attitudes. Through the Seletti Monkey Lamp, they sneak into our house, as if they are stealing some bulbs and are dismantling a chandelier and as if they are going around the house looking for something that catches their attention. They are tiny little crazy creatures that mind their own business and that give an interesting visual effect, just like we do. Raimondi Malerba then used his sculptural ability to “stop” and catch the moment in a fun design product: "to make copies of animals is one thing I do from time to time and always excites me, but to reconcile art and design makes me feel free." cit.
