Peter Marino for Venetian Heritage is a
capsule collection of fabrics designed by
the celebrated American architect who,
in three luxurious silk jacquards Lucente,
Tiepolo and Marino, has given a master-
ful display of his immense love for Venice,
recreating that magic of the light and water
that makes this city unique.
The irregular lines in Lucente run across the
shiny silk satin ground like small waves on
quiet water. Tiepolo shines in infinite colour
shades referencing the technique of light of
the great Veneto artist whose name it be-
ars. Marino, more dynamic, puts across all
the energy of a turbulent sea with its wavy
curves.
Three splendid fabrics, conveying light and
magic. Ideal for decoration.
Fabrics that bear witness to the talent and
know-how of Rubelli, who each year pro-
duces collections in which aesthetics and
function are indispensable and indissoluble
factors.
With strong support from a design depart-
ment manned by creative staff with solid
technical and cultural skills and its own mill
in Como where research and experimenta-
tion are a must, Rubelli is also able to de-
velop and produce bespoke articles to its
clients’ designs and proposals.
“Peter Marino for Venetian Heritage” is a
very special and very Venetian project.
Very special in that it is a capsule collection
added to the high-end collaborations with
great artists and personalities that distingui-
sh Rubelli’s ultra-centenary history.
Very Venetian, not just because, like the
great painters of the eighteenth century
such as Tiepolo and Titian, it celebrates
the enchantment of the light and water of
a unique city magnificently, but also becau-
se part of the proceeds from this collection
will go to support the association Venetian
Heritage, of which Peter Marino himself is
President.
‘Venice for me is magical
and it aligns with one of my main
obsessions: light.
I want light in all of my work,
and the light on the water in the
canals makes me absolutely crazy
with joy; I could spend the rest
of my life sitting looking at it.’
