Raw materials
Building on its mastery of noble materials and with the active collaboration of French designer François Azambourg, Roger Pradier®
is committed to the ecological transition in lighting with this work on materials durability without resorting to surface treatments.
Copper and brass are characterized by their ability to age. Like fine wines, these materials improve over time by acquiring a natural
patina. To inscribe this temporality in the manufacture of its lighting fixtures, Roger Pradier® now proposes them without coating.
It’s about not fixing their appearance and letting them, on the contrary, live and evolve to the rhythm of external elements by
accepting that rain, sun and wind act and reveal another aesthetic.
This proposal for raw materials, free of any varnish, is also part of a general move to use less energy-consuming materials for the
manufacture of lighting fixtures, without altering their intrinsic solidity or their operation.
Raw brass is a living material, which will evolve over time according to its environment.
Raw copper is a living material, which will evolve over time according to its environment.
This is an example of the evolution of materials over a few months, non-contractual photos.
