RODA continues to narrate its contemporary outdoor living story. The company’s innovative approach is expressed in complete and consistent design solutions for furnishing outdoor spaces, as well as interiors, with sophisticated and highly versatile proposals.
Designed by Gordon Guillaumier, TEKA spotlights all the expressive force of teak, a wood whose high value is equally matched by its malleability: "TEKA intends to take teak to the limit of its capacity
without compromising any of its natural charm". Guillaumier’s words sum up the underlying concept of this collection: to confer stylistic lightness to extremely complex workmanship, fruit of RODA’s manufacturing knowhow. TEKA is developed around a particular prism-shaped geometric construction of great impact which, at the same time, confers a sensation of lightness to the product, while retaining its intrinsic durability.
The mingling of different forms and materials is the connecting thread of this complete living and dining collection, which encapsulates RODA’s capacity for innovating and harmoniously combining natural and high tech materials. Sectional sofas, chairs, armchairs, dining and side tables of pared down design and an assertive character all feature the use of teak, which cohabits with outdoor fabrics and mesh, along with an original slatted effect in unglazed porcelain for tops.
The refinement of the TEKA product is also expressed through a choice of cushion trimmings that is far from banal, such as the use of buttons, normally associated with fashion garments, which are practical as well as decorative, since they stop the cushions from slipping by fitting perfectly into the geometric design of the sofa backrest and arms.
“We felt the need to enhance the collection with some “lighter” and more functional products”, says Daniele Pompa, RODA CEO. The structural elements of TEKA satisfy formal and decorative requirements at the same time: a material that has always featured strongly in RODA’s production, teak has now been reinterpreted by the precise signature trait of Gordon Guillaumier, consonantly pursuing the stylistic course undertaken by the company together with its designers.
TEKA has every right to belong to a design experience in which, yet again, an artisanal spirit and manual workmanship join forces with technology to create highly performing furnishings of great comfort and extraordinary durability. A story and an experience that have made RODA a benchmark for outdoor furnishings
