Antico Table was designed by Renzo and Matteo Piano and made of thousand-year-old kauri wood coming from New Zealand.
It was born out of a special collection created for "Ground Zero...Ground Heroes" project after the terroristic attack in New York on 9/11.
Thanks to the collaboration of famous architects and international designers, Riva 1920 made 5 kauri tables like this one which were auctioned by Christie's and the proceeds were then donated to the children of Italian-American firemen who lost their lives during the attack.
The special iron base of Antico Table is the symbol of the Twin Towers wreckage.
