Sophisticated Parisian atmospheres
A French
lounge-dining room
I was fascinated by the large, bright rooms
of this apartment in the heart of nineteenth-
century Paris, with high stuccoed ceilings and
typical bow windows.
I designed a large living area with
communicating lounge and dining room,
in which existing elements such as stucco,
herringbone parquet and original windows
acted as the framework for the new
intervention, consisting of a refined play on
panelling, slightly classical but with extremely
contemporary clear lacquered finishes.
I combined the ebony and the olive ash burl
on some large wall panels, which are
matched with full-length bronze mirrors.
Small touches of light and dark blue
and gold in coordinated fabrics lent
elegance and sophistication to
the entire room.
