IKAT
We are delighted to introduce our stunning new range of hand woven Ikat fabrics from Uzbekistan,
designed to enhance and complement our lighting collection.
These complex fabrics have been made for centuries across Europe and South America, although
the craft, so mastered by the Uzbeks, all but died out under Soviet rule. The few remaining
traditional weavers, who use foot-operated wooden looms, are now flourishing again as the
world falls in love with their beautiful motifs, layered colours and vivacious patterns.
The designs are called Chevron, Kite, Pongo and Sultan.
