Policies, Standards & Warranty
WARRANTIES
Porta Romana Limited is Lighting Association (LIA) ‘Code of Practice’
accredited and Quality Assured (LIAQA). All lighting products are
made using the finest materials and wiring assembly processes
are carried out and monitored to the highest standards. Unless
particularly delicate features of a product design are either obvious
or specifically drawn to the attention of the buyer or user, it is
warranted that all such items:
Provided with Certificates of Conformity as and when required, to the
following standards

All products are assembled with the use of British Standard or
European Standard components
UNITED STATES (UL & CUL LISTED)
Porta Romana Limited has UL standard approval to supply lighting
product bearing the UL and CUL mark under the following file
numbers:
E310263 Incandescent, Surface Mounted Luminaires
E467482 LED, Surface Mounted Luminaires
E314811 Luminaires Portable
All products are assembled using UL listed/recognised components
to a minimum standard as required by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.
All other warranties either express or implied, are expressly
excluded, including the warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.
BATHROOM WALL LIGHT WARRANTY
Where a Wall Light (Sconce) is specified as being suitable for
Bathroom use, the suitability is warranted only with regard to the
regulatory approval for the wiring system which has been approved
with IP44, IP65, UL and/or CUL ratings for damp locations. The
Wall Light (Sconce) is not warranted for bathroom use in terms
of construction material, finish or lampshade material and the
suitability on these grounds must be judged by the Interior Designer
or the end user based on their understanding of the conditions of the
space for which the Wall Light (Sconce) is intended.
GENERAL
Porta Romana Limited offers a 2 year warranty on all products except
lampshades (where a 1 year warranty applies) against manufacturing
defects. This warranty excludes damage resulting from shipping,
accident, alteration, misuse, tampering, negligence, abuse, or
ordinary wear and tear. Porta Romana Limited is not responsible
for damages relating to natural fading or discolouration, oxidation,
humidity, prolonged exposure to sunlight or salt air or other
unsuitable environmental conditions.
Wood, stone, glass, iron, brass, and other decorative materials vary
in tone, colour, character and texture: variations are inherent in such
materials and finishes and should be expected.
DESIGN POLICY AND COPYRIGHT
All products are exclusive designs belonging to Porta Romana
Limited. Please do not submit design sheets featuring
Porta Romana Limited products to other manufacturing companies.
Any manufacturer found to be re-producing a Porta Romana Limited
design will be breaching copyright or EU Design Right laws.
WEBSITE POLICY
Please contact Porta Romana Limited Head Office in advance of
designing a website which includes any Porta Romana Limited
images. In appropriate instances, use of images will be allowed at
the sole discretion of Porta Romana Limited and subject to signing
a partner image licence and the following conditions. All websites
featuring Porta Romana Limited images must be approved before
going live. The text ‘From the Porta Romana Limited collection’ must
be included alongside any images featured Porta Romana Limited
images are not to be changed or altered in any way.
DATA PROTECTION
To the extent that you as Representative “process” any “personal
data” on behalf of your client, you will do so as “processor” on behalf
of your client (such terms having the meanings given to them in the
General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, the “GDPR”). You
warrant that you are entitled to provide us “Porta Romana Limited”
with any such personal data for the purposes of our performance
to your client and our services to you. We undertake to comply
with the obligations required to be placed on us pursuant to the
GDPR as if such obligations were set out in these terms, including
the obligations set out at Article 28.3 of the GDPR, in relation to
any personal data that we process on your behalf. In particular, but
without limiting those obligations, we agree to process such data
only in accordance with your instructions, and to irretrievably delete
all such data upon your request. Please refer to
