Fumoir ripropone l’elegante salotto
introdotto nel catalogo degli anni venti
come modelli 118 e 518. Si ispira alla
poltroncina settecentesca a pozzetto
con schienale basso, particolarmente
adatta alla postura eretta che si assume
attorno a un tavolo o in una sala d’attesa.
Si caratterizza per l’assenza del cuscino
sovrapposto al sedile e per il deciso
ridimensionamento volumetrico che rende
la collezione, oggi come allora, assai agile
e trasversale nell’uso. L’intera gamma
è dotata di ruote anteriori in ottone e
caratterizzata dalle cuciture a losanghe
dello schienale. La struttura portante è in
faggio stagionato. Il molleggio del sedile
è ottenuto con molle biconiche in acciaio
legate a mano e appoggiate su cinghie di
juta. L’imbottitura è in crine gommato. Il
rivestimento è in Pelle Frau® o in tessuto.

Fumoir reproposes the stylish living
room furnishings, exemplified by models
118 and 518, that appeared in Poltrona
Frau’s catalogue of the Twenties. It
is inspired by the low-back dished
armchair of the 18th century, especially
suited for the upright sitting position
that people assume around a table or
in a waiting room. It stands out for its
lack of a cushion on the seat and for
its decisive volumetric re-sizing that
makes the collection, today as it was
then, agile and suitable for multiple
uses. The entire range comes with front
wheels of brass and is characterised by
the diamond-shaped stitching pattern
of the back. The supporting structure
is made of seasoned beech wood. The
springing is by means of biconical hand-
tied steel springs fastened to jute belts.
The padding is in rubberised horsehair.

catalogue de Poltrona Frau des années
Vingt. Il s’inspire du fauteuil au dossier
bas du 18ème siècle, particulièrement
bien adapté pour la posture droite que
l’on prend autour d’une table ou dans
une salle d’attente. Elle se caractérise
par l’absence du coussin au-dessus du
siège, et par un fort redimensionnement
volumétrique qui rend cette collection,
aujourd’hui comme alors, d’usage très
accessible et universel. Toute la gamme a
des roulettes frontales en laiton, et est
caractérisée par le modèle de couture en
forme de diamant du dossier. La structure
portante est en hêtre sec. La suspension
de l’assise est assurée par des ressorts
en acier biconiques fixés à la main et
reposant sur des sangles en jute. Le
rembourrage est en crins caoutchoutés.

der Rückenlehne aus. Die Tragkonstruktion
besteht aus abgelagertem Buchenholz.
Die Sitzfederung erfolgt durch von Hand
gebundene, bikonische Stahlfedern, die auf
Jutegurten aufliegen. Die Polsterung ist
aus gummiertem Rosshaar. Erhältlich mit
