* Higher is the load-bearing capacity, harder is the mattress. In technical jargon, the load-
bearing capacity is the measurement of load resistance (in this case the load is the human
body). An high or medium-high load-bearing level (heavier at the touch) is suggested to people
with robust build, while a medium load-bearing level is recommended to people with normal or
slender build. Please see load-bearing capacity table.
** Differentiated load-bearing zone mattresses are therefore those mattresses having a diffe-
rent load-bearing level, depending on the various zones with an higher or lower load resistance
to several body parts. This differentiation guarantees an optimal, correct and differentiated em-
brace, thus easing joint pain in those areas where a lighter load-bearing capacity is needed and
sustaining with an harder surface those zones that need a better support, encouraging good blo-
od circulation due to a decrease of muscle contraction. Clearly, the load-bearing zones are gra-
dual and almost imperceptible, sleepers will not fell any discomfort, but only long-lasting benefits.
Detail of differentiations adopted in mattresses:
5 load-bearing zones: head area, shoulder area, trunk area, hip area, leg area
7 load-bearing zones: head area, shoulder area, trunk area, hip area, pelvis area, leg area,
calf area, foot area
9 load-bearing zones: in addition to the 7 previously mentioned areas, 2 further zones enable
to satisfy various requirements, creating high and low load-bearing zones combined with jun-
ction zones that have a medium load-bearing level (i.e. for shorter people than the average or
people with a different built).
