L’ispirazione creativa nasce da un mix
di suggestioni: Grant come lo stile ironico
e un po’ dandy del divo hollywoodiano
Cary e l’aplomb militare dell’eroico
generale Ulysses. Richiami ai codici degli
sport equestri e alle ampie e lussuose
automobili anteguerra.
Grant racchiude in sé l’essenza tutta
maschile di un’eleganza sobria, asciutta,
priva di ostentazione, su cui riecheggia
l’eco nostalgica di una golden age
stilistica ed esistenziale.
L’elemento comune a tutti i modelli
è la particolare lavorazione De Luxe:
un intreccio che decora la struttura
perimetrale dei pouf quando questa
è rivestita in Pelle Frau®. Il motivo è
realizzato con fasce in Pelle Frau® a 45°,
mentre un fi letto nello stesso materiale
delimita la seduta ed è sempre in
abbinamento al rivestimento della base.
Tristan Auer has designed a collection
of ottomans for Poltrona Frau which
stand out for their nomadic, versatile
and fl exible elegance: the Grant seats
are equally at home in public and
residential settings, on their own
or in bespoke combinations.
The inspiration for the Grant collection
comes from diff erent sources: the ironic
and slightly dandy style of Hollywood
legend Cary and the military aplomb
of heroic general Ulysses. There are
also nods to equestrianism and the
large luxury cars of the pre-war period.
Grant encapsulates the pure masculine
essence of a clean, understated and
completely unostentatious elegance,
evoking the nostalgia of a stylistic
and existential golden age.
The common denominator of all the items
is the distinctive De Luxe pattern:
a latticework that decorates the external
frame of the ottomans upholstered in
Pelle Frau® leather. The motif consists
of strips of handwoven Pelle Frau®
leather at 45° angles, while a piping in
the same material, always matching the
cover of the base, frames the seat.

L’inspiration créative est née d’un
mélange de suggestions: Grant comme
le style ironique et un peu dandy de la
star hollywoodienne Cary, et l’aplomb
militaire du général héroïque Ulysses.
Des renvois aux codes des sports
équestres et aux voitures grandes et
luxueuses d’avant la guerre. Grant
incarne l’essence absolument masculine
d’une élégance sobre, aride et sans
ostentation, sur laquelle résonne l’écho
nostalgique d’un âge d’or stylistique
et existentiel.
L’élément commun à tous les modèles
est le travail De Luxe particulier:
un entrelacs qui décore la structure
périmétrale des poufs lorsqu’elle est
revêtue de cuir Pelle Frau®. Le motif
est réalisé avec des bandes en cuir
Pelle Frau® à 45°, tandis qu’un
passepoil dans le même cuir délimite
l’assise et est toujours combiné avec
le revêtement de la base.

Die kreative Inspiration entsteht aus
einer Mischung von Suggestionen:
Grant hat sowohl den ironischen,
dandyhaften Stil von Hollywood-
Star Cary, als auch das militärische
Aplomb des heldenhaften Generals
Odysseus. Mit Verweisen auf die
Stilcodes der Reitsportarten und auf
die breiten, luxuriösen Automobile
aus der Vorkriegszeit. Grant umfasst
die vollkommen männliche Essenz
einer schlichten, reinen Eleganz, die
frei von jeder Zurschaustellung ist,
in der das nostalgische Echo eines
goldenen stilistischen und existenziellen
Zeitalters nachhallt.
Das Element, das allen Modellen
gemeinsam ist, besteht in der speziellen
Flechtverarbeitung, die die Umfangs-
Struktur des Poufs schmückt, wenn
dieser mit Pelle Frau®-Leder bezogen
ist. Das Motiv wird mit Streifen aus
Pelle Frau®-Leder im 45°-Winkel
erzeugt, während eine Paspelierung aus
dem gleichen Material die Sitzfl äche
