become a personal memory. Poltrona Frau’s
sensuality and ability to speak “to the heart’s
eye”, to cite Roberts again, have now been
transposed from iconic products to com-
plete living experiences.
It is no coincidence that the Poltrona
Frau 2021 collection “Take Your Time. Feel
the Diff erence” is a sort of manifesto for
the company: an integrated and complete
proposal that suggests an awareness and
a renewed centrality of domestic spaces in
one’s life. Spaces to be experienced with a
greater intensity and focus on sensations
and emotions. The collection creates sleep-
ing and living areas with customisable details
and furnishing accessories that defi ne the
environments. Each product is designed to
interact with the other collections, fi nding
continuous chromatic and material refer-
ences and juxtapositions, from fabrics to
leather upholstery, to the shades of painted
metals. The whole eff ect is harmonised by
the collection of lamps, with forms that are
sculptural even when turned off , warming
the atmosphere with a discreet personality
that is rich in details.
A masterfully orchestrated harmony
is created by these objects, available since
2018. Graphic and sculptural pieces that
share a culture for the single materials and a
distinctly artisan soul. In a balance of diver-
sity and eclectic references, the reissues of
design masters such as Angelo Mangiarotti
are combined with pieces of art by Michele
de Lucchi and works by glass and ceramic
artists such as Carina Seth Andersson from
Sweden and Assia Karaguiozova of Bulgaria.
While the fi rst is the result of a careful study
of proportions expressed through minimal
objects, the second crystallises a dynamic
tale of transparencies, alchemy and move-
ment in the glass.
Similarly, the Poltrona Frau lifestyle
is expressed in its research for yarns and
fabrics. The splendour of silk, the depth of
velvet and the fi neness of linen take shape
in fabric upholstery with soft or sumptuous
