Roberto Lazzeroni
«Since 2009 we have created about thirty pieces
and collections, many of which have represented
a discontinuity for Poltrona Frau’s manufacturing
both in terms of the materials used as for the
processes employed. For example, saddle-leather,
which the company had never used before, worked in
complex and curved shapes like those of Montera, or
wood, which had only been partially introduced,
and in a simplifi ed way.
Look at the Bolero table, which features a large
wooden or marble top resting on two solid wood
slides that are not connected to each other. These
achievements were possible thanks to the great
openness of the Poltrona Frau Style & Design Centre
and the craftsmanship of its artisans. And also thanks
to the relationship of empathy that has been forged.
Poltrona Frau and I share a balance between
tradition and innovation, and the respect for
and valuing of natural materials used for their unique
characteristics, without forcing anything. Features that
give life to a recognisable and independent style that
is the result of a journey that began many years ago.»
