Design Awards
The bed designed by Roberto Lazzeroni
is awarded the prestigious international
award in the “Bedding” category. Based on
the previous four-poster bed, Volare Due
is characterised by the contrast between
the tension and suspension of the elements
that accentuates the diff erent volumes and
the combinations of leather, wood, sad-
dle-leather and fabric.
The “Adopt a School” project, in its fi rst
edition, involves 16 other high-end com-
panies along with technical and vocational
secondary education institutions in various
Italian regions, which are identifi ed in collab-
oration with the Ministry of Education. With
the Renzo Frau high school in Sarnano (MC),
students from the fashion and furniture
programmes are off ered the opportunity
to develop a collection starting from waste
materials, recycling them and transforming
them into objects and furnishings.
A concrete sign of reducing its envi-
ronmental impact, but also the symbol of a
new business path, Pelle Frau® Impact Less
is a leather tanned with natural components
and without the use of chromium. This is
the beginning of Poltrona Frau’s strategic
path towards sustainability. The company is
committed to making all the leathers in its
collection “impact less” by the end of 2025,
with the goal of a 50% reduction in CO2
emissions by 2030.
The Sparkler ambient lamps, designed
by Kensaku Oshiro, win the prestigious
prize in the “Best Outdoor Living” category.
The collection of lanterns, characterised by
woven rope, creates an attractive atmos-
phere through light sculptures that furnish
outdoor spaces of all kinds.
A Limited Edition of 110 pieces that
brings together the essence of Poltrona
Frau’s evolutionary journey over the years.
The iconic Archibald armchair is transformed
by the interpretation of the Argentine-Span-
ish artist Felipe Pantone and his visual and
digital language, vibrant with colours. Printed
following the artist’s overall vision, the Pelle
Frau® Impact Less leather upholstery is
coloured in reds, oranges, yellows, whites
and blues, shades reminiscent of a heat map.
The metal of the structure thus becomes
Multicolour Chrome: shaded, iridescent and
shimmering. Poltrona Frau takes a leap into
the future through the interpretation of its
past and its present in sustainability. A vision
that earned the iconic armchair its victory at
NYCxDesign 2022.
