Poltrona Frau ha svolto un interessante
lavoro fi lologico attorno al progetto
Mesa: sulla base di alcuni disegni
originali fi rmati da Lella e Massimo
Vignelli, sono state realizzate alcune
versioni inedite del tavolo originario,
denominate appunto, Mesa Due.
Due come le semplici forme geometriche,
un cerchio e un cono, accostate fra
loro a formare un tavolo di grande
personalità e forte segno grafi co.
Accanto al modello di tavolo Mesa con
piano in ardesia e colonna portante in
pietra serena, prendono forma altre
dimensioni che ampliano i possibili
utilizzi e sfociano nei modelli Mesa Due:
il tavolo bistrot di diametro 120 cm, il
tavolo da pranzo di diametro 150 o 180
cm e il tavolo rettangolare da 260×110
Il piano è disponibile in numerose
versioni che spaziano dal legno, fi no
alla pelle e al marmo. Le versioni in
legno sono impiallacciate in tranciato
di frassino con fi nitura tinto Moka o
Wengé. I tavoli tondi da 120 e 150 cm
possono essere anche rivestiti in Pelle
Frau® SC. In questo caso il piano
è realizzato con doppia pannellatura
a bordo smussato. La parte inferiore è
verniciata nera testurizzata,
quella superiore è rivestita in pelle.
Poltrona Frau has carried out an
interesting philological work on the
Mesa project: on the basis of a number
of original designs by Lella and Massimo
Vignelli, it has created a number of new
versions of the original table, calling
them, fi ttingly, Mesa Due. Due - two - like
its simple geometric shapes, a circle and
a cone, combined together to form a table
bursting with personality and style.
The Mesa table model with slate top
and load bearing column in pietra serena
is joined by new sizes that off er a greater
variety of possible uses:
the Mesa Due model comes as a bistrot
table with diameter of 120 cm, a dining
table with diameter of 150 or 180 cm,
and a rectangular table measuring 260
x 110. The top is available in numerous
versions ranging from wood to leather
and through to marble. The wood versions
are veneered in cut ash wood with moka
or wenge stain fi nish. The 120 and 150
cm round tables can also be upholstered
with Pelle Frau® SC leather. In this case
the top is made from double panelling
with tapered edge. The bottom part is
fi nished with texturised black paint,
the top part upholstered in leather.

travail philologique autour du projet
Mesa : sur la base de quelques dessins

Vignelli, plusieurs versions inédites de la
table originale ont été créées, appelées
Mesa Due. Deux comme les formes
géométriques simples, un cercle et un
cône, réunis ensemble pour former une
table ayant une grande personnalité
et un signe graphique fort.
À côté du modèle de la table Mesa,
avec plateau en ardoise et colonne
portante en Pierre de Florence, d’autres
dimensions prennent forme, étendant les
possibilités d’utilisation et menant aux
modèles Mesa Due : la table bistrot de
120 cm de diamètre, la table à déjeuner
de 150 ou 180 cm de diamètre et la table
rectangulaire 260 × 110 cm.
Le plateau est disponible dans de
nombreuses versions allant du bois en
passant par le cuir et le marbre.
Les versions en bois sont plaquées
en frêne tranché avec fi nition teintée
Moka ou Wengé. Les tables rondes de
120 et 150 cm peuvent également être
recouvertes de cuir Pelle Frau® SC.
Dans ce cas, le plateau est composé
de doubles panneaux avec des bords
arrondis. La partie inférieure est peinte
en noir texturé, tandis que la partie
supérieure est recouverte de cuir.
Poltrona Frau führte rund um das
Projekt Mesa eine interessante
philologische Arbeit durch: Auf der
Grundlage einiger Originalzeichnungen
von Lella und Massimo Vignelli wurden
brandneue Versionen des ursprünglichen
Tisches angefertigt, die als Mesa und
Mesa Due bezeichnet wurden. Zwei -
wie die einfachen geometrischen Formen,
ein Kreis und ein Kegel, - die gemeinsam
einen Tisch mit starker Persönlichkeit
und ein starkes grafi sches Symbol
ergeben. Neben den Tisch Mesa mit 135
cm Durchmesser, Platte aus Schiefer
und Stützsäule aus Pietra Serena-
Sandstein nehmen weitere
Dimensionen Form an, die die
Anwendungsmöglichkeiten erweitern
und das Modell Mesa Due ins Leben
rufen: der Bistrot-Tisch mit 120 cm
Durchmesser, der Esstisch mit 150
oder 180 cm Durchmesser und der
rechteckige Tisch mit einer Größe von
260 × 110 cm.
Die Tischplatte ist in zahlreichen
Varianten von Holz über Leder bis hin zu
Marmor erhältlich. Die Holzausführungen
sind aus Holzfaser mit wengé- oder
mokkafarbenem Eschemesserfurnier
sind mit Eschefurnier in Moka oder
Wengé gebeizt. Die runden Tische mit
dem Durchmesser 120 cm und 150 cm
können auch mit Pelle Frau®Leder
SC bezogen werden. In diesem Fall ist
die Platte doppelt mit abgeschrägten
Kanten. Der untere Teil ist schwarz
strukturiert lackiert, der obere Teil ist
mit Leder bezogen.
