The Poltrona Frau website wins
the Indigo Awards
Vanity Fair XC Anniversary
The Poltrona Frau site wins the 2020 Indigo
Awards, among the best in Mobile Responsive
Design, and also wins a place of honour in the UX,
Interface & Navigation category. Two medals that
reward excellence in graphic and digital, mobile
and interaction design. The new site sees the
integration of the three business units into a single
platform for the fi rst time. A project dedicated to
the customer’s journey, reproducing the harmoni-
ous combination of innovation and craftsmanship
that is at the heart of the Brand’s identity.
Iconic products dialogue with modernity. To
celebrate the original model’s ninetieth birthday,
Poltrona Frau presents Vanity Fair XC - a revised
version with more generous and comfortable
dimensions that are more suited to today’s pro-
portions and lifestyles.
“The Future of Heritage”
The collection projects long-held values
into the future: the icons and craftsmanship that
distinguish Poltrona Frau, reinterpreted through
innovative materials, unprecedented developments
in form, important reissues and extensions of the
product line. The launch of the collection, together
with that of ColorSphere®, Poltrona Frau’s colour
map, involved the use of a digital platform for the
fi rst time, which was awarded an NC Digital Award
in 2020.

Poltrona Frau is in Palazzo del Quirinale
to represent Italian know-how. “Quirinale Con-
temporaneo” is an initiative of the President of
the Republic bringing together over 70 works of
art, furniture and design objects dating from the
Italian Republic that integrate the vast artistic
heritage of the Quirinale and embellish the rooms
of the Italian President’s residence. The Brera
bench by Guglielmo Ulrich, situated in the Loggia
d’Onore on the main fl oor, and the Diva chairs
by Roberto Lazzeroni, which are located in the
Torrino Belvedere Superiore of the Palazzo to
welcome delegations during lunches and offi cial
dinners, were selected for the 2020 edition. The
Intervista armchairs by Lella and Massimo Vignelli,
located in the Sala del Brustolon, were added after
for the 2021 edition.
Poltrona Frau furnishes an entire fl oor of
the prestigious 565 Broome Street building, the
fi rst “residential building” designed by the Renzo
Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) in New York.
Among the apartments is a 17-million-dollar
turnkey residence off ering breath-taking views of
the Empire State Building and the Hudson River.
Equipped with fl oor-to-ceiling glass in every
room, a private entrance with a lift and light wood
fl oors, the apartment is characterised by custom
workmanship and natural tones that highlight
the exceptional quality and craftsmanship of the
furnishings created by Poltrona Frau.
One of the most prestigious residences on
one of the most exclusive and sought-after private
islands in the world. Poltrona Frau furnishes an
8.7-million-dollar home on the fourth fl oor of
Palazzo della Luna with light wood fl oors, custom
workmanship and natural tones. The house re-
fl ects Poltrona Frau’s inimitable style, exceptional
quality and artisan mastery.
ColorSphere® was created in consultation
with internationally renowned chromatologist
and textile designer Giulio Ridolfo: an innovative
system that allows to design through colour, both
for single furniture pieces as for the overall eff ect
of the global environment. It is a tool designed
for the worlds of architecture and interior design,
to build a harmonious and lasting relationship
between environments and furnishings.

Archibald 10th Anniversary
The Coupé bed is recognised as “Best of the
Year” by the US magazine Interior Design and is
presented the award in the “Furniture” category,
given by the Italian portal dedicated to design and
architecture. Designed by GamFratesi, Coupé
comes from the encounter of the distinct geome-
tries of the headrest and bed frame, paying
homage to the classic and subdued elegance of
great sports cars.
Poltrona Frau Group becomes Lifestyle
Design Group, managed by US based Haworth
Inc. The new Group owns the companies Poltrona
Frau, Cassina, Cappellini, Ceccotti Collezioni,
Janus et Cie and Luminaire. In the same year of its
foundation, it also acquires Danish brand Karakter.
In addition to its network of physical distri-
bution channels, the company’s determined
embrace of digital transformation led to the
launch of the e-shop on its website. The site
allows to see, compare and purchase a series of
products online, from furniture to furnishing ac-
cessories, in the Poltrona Frau style.
This time it is Roberto Palomba’s turn—an es-
tablished designer who designs sofas for Poltrona
Frau such as Let it Be, Come Together, Get Back
and the recent Happy Jack—to represent the values
of the Brand on a tour in Asia. Four stops, from
China to Singapore and passing through Vietnam,
to talk about attention to sustainability, designing
between artisanry and industry, and the new idea
of luxury.
An event that saw the participation of experts
from the world of tanning and sustainability and
also representatives from the fashion industry.
None other than Poltrona Frau could be called to
talk about the great beauty of leather, which has
always been part of human life. A company that has
mastered the particularities of this extraordinary
material and the industrial culture that surrounds
it, since 1912, highlighting the reasons that make
leather concretely circular and sustainable, modern
and versatile.
In celebration of the 9th edition of Museum
Night, the Compagnia della Rancia, a famous
theatre production company born in Tolentino
but known throughout Italy, performs the most
famous pieces from 100 years of musical theatre,
in an evening arranged exclusively for the Poltrona
Frau Museum.
Poltrona Frau receives the important certifi -
cation issued by the National Civil Aviation Author-
ity (ENAC) on behalf of EASA. It is an important seal
of reliability, recognising a rich product range that
is the result of experience in the sector, an artisan
approach with a cutting-edge production process,
knowledge of the materials above all, leather.
The showroom as a setting where you can
experience everyday life, with interconnected
interiors open to multiple activities. This is the
idea behind the installation designed by Michele
De Lucchi in Poltrona Frau’s Milan Flagship
Store. The initiative is part of Earth Stations, the
aMDL Circle research project on the evolution of
technology in our lives and ways of working and
enjoying collective spaces.
Jean-Marie Massaud designs a limited series
of Archibald armchairs for the Salone del Mobile
Furniture Fair in Milan to celebrate the fi rst ten
years of the famous chair. One of Poltrona Frau’s
best sellers, Archibald received the Wallpaper*
Design Award for “Best Domestic Design” in 2009.
