Laika
Pieter designed these “Laika” hanging lamps
featuring Bohemian crystal globes and brass
construction in the spirit of the late 60’s-early 70’s.
The music of David Bowie teleported him back to
the days in which “space” was part of a general
fascination. Designing can be all about this:
immersing yourself completely in a sense, emotion
or zeitgeist and move from there. It is about testing
your imagination, reinventing yourself, and like
space actually, it is mysterious and elusive which
makes it part of the draw. With its sleek silhouettes
and curved edges, “Laika” clearly shows space-
inspired aesthetics. It is a highly adaptable design,
customizable in many compositions and colour
combinations, with globes available in 3 sizes.
These hanging lamps lend themselves superbly
for customization. Make your own arrangement
of globes by mixing different sizes and height
levels.
