Motion, energy and light. LIQUID is
the first luminaire designed by Walter
de Silva for PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING
where technology and beauty come
together in a unique design. A distillation
of pure technological essence which
explores reflections on the nature
of light with aesthetic values of the
highest quality. Light is energy, wave,
evanescence. Metal is static and durable
over time. The waves of a drop crystallise
into a lightweight, substantial volume
that expresses fluidity and dynamism at
the same time.
Solid Waves: Solidity in term of
durability and statics as a metal balanced
with dynamism given by the transient of
waves are the two concepts behind this
new series. Light is energy, is a wave, is
evanescent. Metal is static, is durable, is
forever.
Looks like metal, a solid material that
liquefies to communicate what is inside:
motion, energy and light. The formal
choice of the designer magnifies the
beauty of the material reflections; the
result is a realistic approach with deep
thin multiple waves with no line visible.
