Have a seat, lie down, open and close the arms, but above all, be proud of your daring! This is the concept behind the Hot Dog.
The sofa and chair designed by Karim Rashid for Domodinamica. The name is derived from the look of the long rounded layers of the sofa as seen from the front, but also in urban slang “a hot dog” is someone who likes to show off or stand out. The sofa is made up of several layers of cushions with one layer that splits and swings out to create 4 tiers of rounded cushions that can combine into multiple colour combinations adding a graphic element to the surroundings. The soft forms are engaging, playful, comfortable, and dynamic. The steel frame is covered in flexible polyurethane and upholstered in elastic fabric, with one layer of cushion that splits in two, each part rotating at 90° to become comfortable armrests.
