Il bambù è un materiale eccezionale dal punto di vista della sosteni-

alle altre piante. Tutte le specie di bambù hanno in comune grande
adattabilità, resistenza e rapida crescita. Utilizzato in edilizia, arre-
damento, agricoltura, oggettistica e per la produzione di fibre tessi-
li, cresce spontaneamente e non necessita di fertilizzanti e concimi.
Ha un ruolo fondamentale nella tenuta dei terreni a rischio di erosio-
ne e, in quanto sempreverde, offre rifugio a uccelli e piccoli animali
durante tutto l’anno. Inoltre ha una naturale resistenza alle fiamme.
