DUCASSE SUR SEINE
Alain Ducasse’s floating restaurant / Paris, France / 2018
In 2018 the multi-awarded French chef Alain Ducasse opened his new floating
restaurant Ducasse sur Seine in Paris. Opinion Ciatti was part of the project,
working on the interiors in partnership with Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman.
Company profile
Paris and the Seine feature as the concept’s main sources of inspiration for the development of a unique interior design project, which includes 4
areas on 2 different levels: the reception and the main room on the first floor, the private room and the terrace on the second.
A shiny mirror effect is a main feature of the tailor- made versions of the Mammamia chair - presented here in an unusual edition with armrests and
sled base – and of the ILtavolo table – which evokes the river also with its special wood veneer and a wavy top.
Sparkling silver leaf covers the two consoles where dishes are prepared and the inner glass walls. Completing the whole, the ceiling with its sculpted
wave pattern and the reception desk, a Waves sideboard bended to the needs of a starred restaurant!
The tiny room of the second floor is a tribute to the warm tones of the Parisian sunset and features special tables covered with bright copper leaf.
