Opinion Ciatti è una storia di famiglia. Una storia che dura da più di 70 anni,
da quando, nel lontano 1950, mio nonno Rolando ebbe un’intuizione:
trovare la giusta collocazione per quello strano oggetto – il televisore – che
da lì a poco avrebbe popolato tutte le case degli italiani.
Da allora altre grandi persone e altre grandi intuizioni hanno segnato
la vita dell’azienda. Massimo, mio padre, ha aggiunto valore al progetto
instaurando rapporti con architetti internazionali. Flavia, mia madre, a
metà degli anni ’80 con Ciatti a Tavola, ha scardinato canoni e convinzioni,
proponendo in chiave residenziale materiali e concetti fino a quel momento
appannaggio esclusivo di spazi industriali e collettivi.
E Bruno Rainaldi, mio maestro indimenticato. La sua intuizione più grande,
Original Ptolomeo, Compasso d’Oro 2004, è oggi non solo tra i nostri
best-seller ma anche un’indiscussa icona del design contemporaneo.
In questi anni Opinion Ciatti è cresciuta, si è evoluta, si è affacciata su nuovi

a family. A story that has lasted
for more than 70 years, ever
since my grandfather Rolando
had an intuition, back in 1950:
to find the right support for that
strange object – the television –
that would soon enter all Italian
homes.
Since then, more great people
and inspired ideas have marked
the life of the company.
Massimo, my father, added
value to the project by building
relationships with international
architects.
In the mid-1980s, with Ciatti
a Tavola, Flavia, my mother,
defied accepted conventions
proposing materials and
concepts for the home that had
previously been the prerogative

En 1950, mon grand-père Rolando
eut une intuition : trouver où
positionner cet objet bizarre – le
téléviseur – qui, peu après, allait
entrer dans toutes les maisons.
Dès lors, d’autres personnages
et d’autres grandes intuitions ont
marqué la vie de l’entreprise.
Massimo, mon père, a apporté
une valeur ajoutée au projet
de famille grâce aux relations
instaurées avec de nombreux
architectes internationaux.
Flavia, ma mère, au milieu des
années ’80, avec Ciatti a Tavola,
a bouleversé les standards et
les certitudes en proposant des

Familiengeschichte.
Eine Geschichte, die seit mehr als 70
Jahren geschrieben wird, als mein
Großvater Rolando im Jahr 1950
eine Eingebung hatte: Er wollte den
richtigen Ort für diesen seltsamen
Gegenstand finden, den Fernseher,
der schon bald in allen italienischen
Haushalten seinen Einzug halten
würde. Seit damals haben weitere
großartige Menschen und weitere
großartige Ideen das Leben des
Unternehmens geprägt. Mein
Vater Massimo hat Beziehungen
zu internationalen Architekten
aufgebaut und dem Projekt so einen
Mehrwert verliehen.
Mit Ciatti a Tavola hat meine
Mutter Flavia Mitte der 80-er Jahre
alle Konventionen über
den Haufen geworden und
