There is no end to what may trigger a designer’s creativity. In this case, a rather unusual muse ended up as a lamp: a famous fresco by Piero della Francesca at Arezzo that portrays a nobleman wearing a bizarre hat. As the name implies, its unusual shape resulted in the design of the “Arezzo” lamp. It is particularly interesting how such a solemn image became an elegant, contemporary object, closed on top by an exquisite lens made of curved glass.
