Die Farbdesignerinnen Livia Baum und Jutta Werner beschäftigen
sich mit der Erstellung von Kollektionen sowie Farb- und Design-
konzepten für Unternehmen aus den Bereichen Interieur, Produkt,
Farbe, Material und Muster. Gemeinsam mit OBJECT CARPET ent-
stand in einem intensiven Trendscouting- und Monitoringprozess
die neue Trend Collection COLOR OPINIONS.
Color designers Livia Baum and Jutta Werner work on creating
collections, as well as color and design concepts, for companies
in the interiors, products, paints, materials and patterns
industries. Together with OBJECT CARPET they developed the new
COLOR OPINIONS Trend Collection in an intensive trend
scouting and monitoring process.
Ihr seid Farbdesignerinnen. Wie sieht ein
klassischer Arbeitstag bei Euch aus?
Wir beginnen meist mit dem Sammeln von Bildinspirationen aus
verschiedenen Blogs oder anderen Medien. Das ist unsere tägliche
Routine geworden und bildet eine wichtige Basis für unsere Trend-
beobachtungen. Messen und Kunstausstellungen sind für uns eben-
falls wichtige Impulsgeber, die in unsere Arbeit mit einfließen. Als
Farbdesignerinnen steht Farbe immer im Fokus unserer Arbeit. Sie
begleitet uns bei der Entwicklung von Farb- und Designkonzepten
bis hin zur Kreation von Trendwelten und Kollektionen. Das Schöne
am Farbdesign ist die Vielfalt der Aufgabenfelder, das Hineindenken
in ganz neue Bereiche.
You are professional color designers – what
does a typical day at work look like for you?
We usually start by collecting inspiration in the form of images from
a range of blogs and other media. This has become part of our daily
routine and forms an important basis for how we monitor trends.
Trade fairs and art exhibitions are also important sources of inspira-
tion, which we use in our work. As color designers, color is obvious-
ly always at the heart of our work. It accompanies us through the
process of developing color and design concepts, all the way to the
creation of trend collections and spheres. The beauty of color design
lies in the variety of tasks and our exploration of other sectors.
Was war das Besondere an der Entwicklung
der Trend Collection COLOR OPINIONS und
der Zusammenarbeit mit OBJECT CARPET?
Das Thema Farbe und Trend auf den Boden zu übertragen ist eine
spannende Aufgabe. Der Boden ist ein wichtiges und markantes
Gestaltungsmittel im Interior Design. Nicht jede Farbe funktioniert
hierbei und es müssen auch Aspekte wie Sicherheit, Wohlfühlen
oder Farbsymbolik beachtet werden. Eine besondere Herausfor-
derung war es, die richtige Qualität mit der passenden Farbe zu
verbinden. Hier spielten zum Beispiel der Glanzgrad, die Struktur
oder die Florhöhe eine wichtige Rolle. Nur wenn diese Faktoren
zueinanderpassen, wirkt das Produkt auch trendgerecht. Die Zu-
sammenarbeit mit dem OBJECT CARPET Team war sehr harmonisch
und konstruktiv – dabei traf unsere eher freie Herangehensweise
auf die Erfahrung von OBJECT CARPET. In mehreren Abstimmun-
gen wurden gemeinsam Produktmuster gesichtet, verglichen und
aussortiert, bis das perfekte Ergebnis gefunden wurde. Entstanden
sind neue, innovative Farbtöne, die das bestehende Farbspektrum
der OBJECT CARPET Qualitäten optimal ergänzen. Ziel und Beson-
derheit war es, eine Kollektion zu kreieren, die die aktuellen Trends
und Entwicklungen auf dem Boden und im Raum widerspiegelt.
Jede Trendwelt hat eine ganz eigene Story und Farbkombinatorik
und deckt individuelle Raumatmosphären ab, die regenerieren, die
Konzentration oder Kreativität fördern.
What was special about the development of
the COLOR OPINIONS Trend Collection and
working with OBJECT CARPET?
Applying colors and trends to flooring is an exciting job. The floor
is an important, striking tool in interior design. Not all colors will
work as part of this process and aspects such as safety, comfort and
color symbolism also need to be taken into account. It was parti-
cularly challenging to match the right quality of fabric to the right
color. The gloss level, structure and floor height play a key role here.
Only if all these factors come together harmoniously will the end
result be on-trend. The OBJECT CARPET team were a joy to work
with, and incredibly helpful – our slightly more free approach to our
work complemented OBJECT CARPET‘s expertise perfectly. Over a
number of adjustment steps, product samples were jointly viewed,
compared and sorted until we found the perfect result. We have
created new, innovative color tones, which will be the ideal addition
to the color spectrum of OBJECT CARPET‘s high-quality products.
The unique aim of this collaboration was to create a collection that
reflects current trends and developments in flooring and interior
design. Each trend concept has its own individual story and color
combination, and encompasses individual interior atmospheres that
encourage concentration or creativity.
