Tutte le cose importanti hanno bisogno di
tempo è un lavoro riguardo l’attesa, l’ambi-
guità e l’immaginazione e sfrutta processi re-
torici tipici dell’arte concettuale: il paradosso,
la tautologia e l’ellissi. È inoltre una riflessione
sul rapporto tra artista e artigiano e sul signi-
ficato di opera d’arte. Consiste di una scritta
su muro che recita la seguente frase: “Tomor-
row there will be an artwork here.” (Domani
qui ci sarà un’opera d’arte). […] Lo spazio
dello showroom, in cui sono allestite sedute e
mobilio di vario genere, si presta felicemente
ad accogliere un segnale che indica la futura
presenza di un’opera d’arte. Il contesto in cui
verrà disegnato il lavoro favorisce un corto
circuito semantico, ponendo lo spettatore in
uno stato d’allerta, in cui realtà e finzione,
scherzo e funzionalità, collassano. Tutte le

radossale in quanto si nega e si afferma allo
stesso tempo. Una tensione costante tra opera
e non opera
Tutte le cose importanti hanno bisogno di
tempo is a work about anticipation, ambiguity,
and imagination, and it uses rhetorical pro-
cesses typical of conceptual art: paradox, tau-
tology, and the ellipse. It is also a reflection
on the relationship between the artist and the
craftsman, and the meaning of a work of art.
It consists of an inscription on the wall that
contains the following sentence: "Tomorrow
there will be an artwork here."
[...] The space in the showroom, where they
set up chairs and furniture of various kinds,
lends itself ideally to the suggestion of the fu-
ture presence of art. The context in which the
work is found will contribute to the semantic
short circuit, placing the viewer in a state of
alert, in which reality and fiction, joke and
functionality, collapse. That all important
things take time is paradoxical, in that it is
denied and confirmed at the same time. There
is a constant tension between work and non-
work.
