Nel recente passato, il gioco con le bambole è stato accusato di
essere poco attuale e, per certi versi, diseducativo. Oggi invece è stato
pienamente rivalutato. Le bambole, e i pupazzi in generale, hanno
un ruolo molto importante nello sviluppo psicologico, fisico e sociale
dei bambini. Attraverso le attività ludiche si stimolano la fantasia, la
creatività, la socializzazione, lo sviluppo motorio, la consapevolezza e
la conoscenza di sé. Il bambino cresce e impara le competenze che gli
saranno utili nella vita osservando il mondo e in particolare imitando le
azioni e i comportamenti degli adulti. È importante e naturale quindi che
un bambino, maschio o femmina che sia, voglia giocare con le bambole,
prendersene cura, vestirle, cucinare per loro; attraverso queste azioni
elabora e prende maggior consapevolezza di ciò che in modo amorevole
viene dato a lui. La bambola è molto più di un semplice oggetto: è capace
di tranquillizzare, incoraggiare e coccolare.
In the recent past, playing with dolls has been classed as out of
fashion and in some senses, counter-educational. Now there has been
a complete turnaround. Dolls and plush toys in general play a very
important role in the psychological, physical and social development
of children. Their imaginations, creativity, socialising, motor skills,
awareness and self-knowledge are all developed through play. Children
grow and learn the skills that will be of use to them in later life by
watching the world and by copying the actions and behaviours of adults.
It is important and natural, therefore, for a child - boy or girl - to want
to play with dolls, take care of them, dress them and cook for them.
These action are a child’s way of processing and becoming increasingly
aware of the loving care given to him or her. Dolls are more than simple
objects: they can soothe, encourage, and cuddle.
