Goom
sofa system
Goom is a soft and enveloping sofa designed by Jean Marie Massaud, a longtime
partner of MDF Italia. A tribute to the force of gravity, this upholstered piece is a
sculptural volume designed for total immersion in comfort. The lines are sharp and
concise, yet the visual appeal offers an extra layer of comfort, thanks to in-depth
research into materials aimed at achieving ultimate softness. The cushion edges are
an iconic design feature, enhancing the contrast between weight and lightness,
creating a floating effect.
Goom is a modular system comprising individual elements, a chaise longue
– with the option of adding an armrest – two corner units and two poufs, designed to
allow for personalised configurations. From the wooden internal structure to the
upholstery and foams, Goom has been designed to be fully disassembled, in line
with circular economy principles.
Goom è un divano morbido e avvolgente progettato da Jean Marie Massaud,
designer con cui MDF Italia vanta un lungo sodalizio. Un elogio della forza di gravità,
quest’imbottito è un solido in cui sprofondare con gusto. Le linee sono nette e
concise, ma il risultato estetico offre un’esperienza di comfort extra, grazie a una
ricerca approfondita sui materiali finalizzata alla morbidezza più estrema.
Un dettaglio iconico sono le estremità dei cuscini, che esaltano il contrasto tra peso
e leggerezza, creando un effetto di sospensione.
Goom è un sistema modulare composto da elementi singoli, chaise longue
– con la possibilità di aggiungere un bracciolo –, due elementi angolari e due pouf,
pensati per dare vita a composizioni personalizzate. Dalla struttura interna in legno
ai rivestimenti e alle gomme, Goom è stato progettato per poter essere completa-
mente disassemblato, in ottica di economia circolare.
