Maxalto svela le nuove pagine del proprio racconto. Una storia che, da ormai quasi tre decenni,
narra di un’eleganza borghese senza tempo in cui riecheggiano le atmosfere parigine degli anni tra le due guerre ma che riflette,
anche, una certa cultura dell’abitare fatta di eleganza, accoglienza, sobrietà, sostanza.
Non è dunque una “collezione” perché i nuovi pezzi disegnati dall’art director Antonio Citterio vanno a inserirsi senza soluzione
di continuità nel catalogo, dialogando con i suoi elementi, spesso in una sorprendente assonanza di contrari grazie a inedite forme
d’afflato organico che si contrappongono a quelle più rigorose dell’estetica Déco. Un nuovo capitolo che non stravolge, ma semmai
rafforza, una cifra stilistica che non è mimica di maniera ma, al contrario, vive ed evolve assieme alla società che rappresenta.
Un carattere che si perpetua rinnovandosi da secoli e che Maxalto pratica coniugando il precipitato delle botteghe medievali
a quel sapere politecnico divenuto nel frattempo know-how tecnologico. E continuando a perseguire un ideale estetico capace
di sopravvivere a ogni tendenza e a ogni tempo perché, come insegna Oscar Wilde, la bellezza è utile per sempre.
Maxalto reveals the new pages of its story. A story that, for almost three decades, has told of a timeless bourgeois elegance;
one in which the Parisian moods of the years between the two wars are echoed, but one which also reflects a certain culture of living
made up of elegance, hospitality, understated style and substance.
The new pieces designed by art director Antonio Citterio are therefore not a “collection”, because they fit seamlessly into the catalogue,
dialoguing with its elements, often in a surprising assonance of opposites thanks to unprecedented forms of organic inspiration that
contrast with the more formal ones of the Déco aesthetic. A new chapter that does not distort, but if anything, reinforces a stylistic
signature that does not mimic the manners of but rather, one that lives and evolves together with the society it represents.
An identity that has remained relevant by renewing itself for centuries and one that Maxalto practices by combining the results
achieved by the Medieval workshops with polytechnic knowledge that has since become technological know-how. By continuing
to pursue an ideal aesthetic capable of surviving all trends and all times, as Oscar Wilde teaches, beauty is forever useful.
