Pipistrello and Minipipistrello
Titanium finish: a new color, the same eternal charme!
Pipistrello is once again on everyone’s lips: after the gilded version celebrating the lamp’s 50th anniversary, the cult lamp designed by Gae Aulenti in far-off 1965 for Martinelli Luce, is back, debuting at a preview showing in Paris in a hyper-technological version featuring a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) finish in a new titanium color, alongside Minipipistrello, exactly replicating the form of the original on a smaller scale – and with all the original’s large-scale charisma!
If 50 years after its creation the Pipistrello lamp is still capable of winning fans all over the world, this new version conveys an even more surprising modernity and skilful modulation that valorizes the fascination of the design.
The ageless contemporary flair of this lamp is one of the finest examples of Martinelli Luce’s capacity to renew a project without in the least distorting the pioneer idea and style, to bring just as much originality to reinterpretation of a true evergreen of modern lighting design as went into its initial conception.
