Hollow is a public artwork, installed in the grounds of the Bristol
University by the architects Zeller & Moye and the artist Katie
Paterson. It combines different types of wood from more than
10,000 tree species. Inspired by such super structure, Malabar
conceived a very special piece: the Hollow Chest of Drawers.
Material | Structure in polished brass. Drawers composed
of bird’s eye veneer, elm burl veneer, ironwood veneer mosaic,
walnut wood veneer, maple root veneer, finished with high gloss
varnish. Drawer interiors coated in gold leaf.
