Dix Bougies by Studio Odile Decq is a
contemporary chandelier, but it also makes vivid
reference to the past. A technical structure – with overall
length of 180 cm and width of 70 cm – composed of a
long horizontal aluminium extrusion and four other parts
that intersect in an asymmetrical way, but in a perfect
balance. The passage of current inside the arms conveys
it to the ends, where LED light sources (ten in all) are
enhanced by a diffuser made with a sophisticated paper
based on a mixture of cellulose and synthetic fibers
(Ø 3.3 cm, h 15 cm). The light diffusers, equipped with
a slender metal ring and anchored to the arms by small
magnets placed on a runner, can have a smooth surface
or translucent patterns obtained by means of an
engraving process.

Dix Bougies by Studio Odile Decq è uno
chandelier contemporaneo con un forte richiamo al
passato. Una struttura tecnica - lunga 180 cm e larga 70
cm - costituita da un lungo estruso orizzontale in alluminio
e da altri quattro elementi che si intersecano in modo
asimmetrico, ma in perfetto equilibrio. Il passaggio della
corrente all’interno dei bracci conduce l’elettrificazione
alle estremità, dove sono collocate le sorgenti luminose
a LED (dieci in totale) arricchite da un diffusore costituito
da una sofisticata carta in cellulosa e fibre sintetiche
(Ø 3,3 cm, h 15 cm). I diffusori, muniti di un sottile anello
metallico e ancorati ai bracci grazie a piccoli magneti
collocati su una slitta, possono avere la superficie liscia
o presentare trame translucenti ottenute da un processo
di incisione.
