Poul Henningsen developed the PH 5 in 1958. This fixture provides 100% glare-free light while directing the majority of the light downwards. At the same time, the fixture emits both downward and lateral light, thus illuminating itself.
Launched in 4 new colours in 2013
Louis Poulsen has now launched a completely new and different colour range for the design icon – matching contemporary hues and trends. Its ability to adapt to all types of interiors remains unique, but the new colour range makes the role of the lighting in the overall interior design more pronounced. The colour combinations range from soft white/rose and rose/green to the more masculine and tough army green/dark grey and dark grey/turquoise. These combinations make the lights an integrated part of the furnishings, without dominating. A special feature of the PH 5 light is the spacers which hold the shades precisely in position. In all new variants these are now finished with a warm bronze colour.
