Lower the hybrids and elevate the wholes
The more voluminous looking whole number sizes in System PH
were marketed more than 30 years before the bestseller hybrid
size PH 5, for instance, which has a shade set that is differently
proportioned and has a slightly more asymmetric, yet elegant
appearance. The forerunners to both lamps were seen in 1925,
when System PH was introduced in Paris for the first time.
The whole number sizes are best suited to general lighting and
provide great ambience, which is why they hang high. The hybrid
number sizes, on the other hand, hang low, where they effortlessly
combine pleasant task lighting with a cosy atmosphere.
