Light has played a vital role from the very
beginning of human life. Today where we
have light everywhere – especially in the
cities, lighting needs to integrate with
its surroundings for humans to thrive.
For millennia town and city lights
had the primary role of safety and
security. It prevented the wanderer
from tripping on the path and would
fend off a potential mugger.
Today there are countless roles of light in
the city and lighting systems are essential
for the life of the modern human: moving
between home and workplace, shopping,
enjoying leisure time or simply moving
around while finding their way, feeling
secure - and not least feeling good.
