Lladró artists’ consummate control of sculpture is
evident in creations like this, an angel engrossed
in watching a butterfly that has alighted on the
back of his hand.
White matte porcelain was chosen for this
piece. The purity of this material is perfect for
highlighting all the details of the composition,
from the sculpture itself and the flower headdress,
to the intricate ornamental work of the angel’s and
the butterfly’s wings.
Soft touches of pastel colors were chosen for the
flowers, handmade petal by petal, the bracelet and
the butterfly. The result is a creation symbolizing
the magic and mystery of nature.
