Project study:
Musèe Les Arts Décoratifs
Located inside the Louvre Palace,
the Museum of Decorative Arts
houses thousands of objects and
works from collectors, offering a
complete picture of the decorative
arts from the Middle Ages to
the 21st century. Within a highly
prestigious setting, Linea Light
Group has brought back to life the
most difficult element to preserve
in a work of art, namely colour, by
replacing the old luminaires – now
obsolete – with new technologically
advanced luminaires equipped with
Fidelity LED sources, which offer
very high colour reproduction fidelity.
The entire project, undertaken
by Emmanuel Clair (Light Cibles),
saw the customisation of various
products to fit the existing structure,
so as to minimise the impact on
the space. The greatest challenge
was to consider the specific details
of each individual work, along with
the not-so-easy task of illuminating
unique decorative pieces of different
sizes and finishes, all within a single
environment that itself needs to be
suitably lit to provide an enjoyable
visitor experience.
